Learn techniques such as smocking, pleats and darts, stuffed and rolled shapes, wire and boning to develop three dimensional fabric and paper forms. Own sewing machine required and some hand stitch involved. Ideal if you want to raise the surface of your fabrics for a more sculptural approach to embroidery. (own sewing machine required)

Starting with antique maps and aerial photography for inspiration, this workshop will introduce you to a variety of mark making techniques to create patterns and designs to take through into machine and hand stitch. Working with a variety of fabrics and papers to create bonded and stitched samples to take away. There will also be an opportunity to use an Embellisher as part of this workshop. (Own sewing machine required.)
